MAINTENANCE GARDENER

Location: Vancouver, BC – West Side

Job Type: Full Time, Year Round

Pay: $26.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Gardener to join our full time, year round team in Vancouver. This is a hands on position caring for a variety of residential properties, from everyday family homes to beautiful luxury estates.

This is a role where experience, initiative and a robust work ethic are valued. You will have the opportunity to work independently, take ownership of your work and build your skills over time. Duties:

- General landscape maintenance and physical labour
- Plant identification




- Landscape enhancement and seasonal garden renovation projects
- Garden restoration and rejuvenation
- Pruning and care of trees, shrubs and ornamental plants
- Planting and implementation of landscape plans
- Accurately locate and place trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses and groundcovers according to design specifications
- Plant health monitoring
- Specialty horticultural work

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or professional gardening
- Knowledge of plants and the ability to identify a variety of trees, shrubs and perennials
- Experience with pruning and general plant care
- Ability to safely operate common landscape equipment
- Good communication skills and a professional, positive attitude
- Physical ability to perform the hands on requirements of the position
- A valid driver's licence is an asset
- Horticultural education or certification is an asset
