POSITION DETAILS
CLASSIFICATION This position is classified at the REX-08 group and level which is roughly equivalent to the EX-05 group and level.
LOCATION
These positions are located in Ottawa or Toronto, Ontario. Working from the Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal office may be approved, depending on worksite availability. Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position requires full time physical presence in the office. As such, this position is not suitable for telework.
PROCESS INTENT
The intent of this process is to fill current and anticipated indeterminate positions as they become available in the Policy and Risk Response (PRR) group. Positions may have a language requirement of (bilingual imperative CBC/CBC / English essential / Bilingual non-imperative CBC/CBC). A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (bilingual imperative, bilingual non-imperative, English essential or French Essential), security requirements, tenures, and/or locations within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The PRR group is a team of professionals advising on policy, non-financial risks, accounting, and legislative matters. PRR is responsible for developing and implementing regulatory guidance for federally regulated financial institutions and private pension plans, supervising non-financial risks, and interpreting and applying the relevant statutes primarily in relation to approvals, and OSFI’s formal intervention tools. The Managing Director roles are responsible for:
- leading teams of professionals and developing, coaching and managing Director level staff;
- providing guidance, management direction, and operational oversight on a portfolio of projects and initiatives related to the mandate of PRR;
- providing advice to the Executive Director PRR, Senior Director Non-Financial Risk and Accounting Policy, Senior Management of the Risk, Strategy and Policy (RSP) Sector and OSFI Executives;
- ensuring their teams work collaboratively with colleagues across OSFI and with key external stakeholders.

- Leadership experience at the senior management level, in leading a team of diversified professional and technical specialists.
- Significant (3*) experience leading, planning, and carrying forward multi-step or multi-disciplinary projects

- Significant (3*) experience fostering constructive engagement with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant (3*) experience leading analysis and developing responses to complex (5*) policy issues (i.e. sound business and financial practices, accounting, governance, and crisis preparedness) or risk management related to the financial sector.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate their roles and responsibilities pertaining to this experience.
