About TuxMat
TuxMat is a Canadian automotive accessories company specializing in premium, vehicle-specific floor liners for the North American market. Our products are engineered with precision to deliver superior protection, fit, and aesthetics, and are sold directly to consumers who value quality and design.
As a product-driven organization operating at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and e-commerce, TuxMat is focused on building best-in-class products and an exceptional customer experience.
Why Join TuxMat
TuxMat is a founder-led company at an exciting stage of growth. This role offers the chance to work closely with the CEO and COO, lead our marketing team, and have a meaningful influence on how the TuxMat brand and business continue to grow.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the COO, the Director of Marketing will lead TuxMat’s marketing function and be accountable for how our brand, creative, advertising, e-commerce, social, and broader marketing efforts come together.
This is not a role for someone who wants to lead marketing from a distance. We are looking for a hands-on marketing leader who can set direction, connect the work across the team, make good decisions quickly, and ensure great ideas turn into strong execution.
You will provide clear direction while staying close enough to the work to understand what is happening, where things are getting stuck, and what needs to change.
The right person will bring clarity and structure while preserving the speed and entrepreneurial mindset that are important to TuxMat. We operate with lean teams, direct communication, and a strong sense of ownership. We value leaders who simplify, prioritize, make decisions, and help talented people move quickly.
This role requires someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution. One moment you may be discussing positioning or annual priorities; the next, reviewing campaign performance, resolving competing priorities, or helping the team make a decision and move forward.
How You Lead The way you operate matters as much as your marketing experience.
You bring clarity when things are ambiguous.
You communicate context, not just instructions.
You create alignment rather than operating through disconnected one-to-one conversations.
You have a point of view and can clearly explain the thinking behind it.
You make decisions and follow through.
You stay close to your team and the work without becoming a bottleneck.
You believe great teams can operate lean, with clear priorities, direct communication, strong ownership, and very few unnecessary layers.
You know when something needs more thought and when it’s time to make the call and move.
And you build an environment where talented people know what is expected of them and have the ownership to deliver.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Lead the overall marketing function and translate company priorities into a clear marketing strategy and execution plan.
- Create alignment across advertising, creative, social media, e-commerce, content, brand, and other marketing activities.
- Establish a strong operating rhythm for the team, with clear priorities, ownership, communication, and follow-through.
- Ensure campaigns and initiatives move from idea to execution with speed, quality, and accountability.
- Partner closely with the CEO, COO, Product, and other teams to connect marketing priorities to broader business objectives.
- Use customer, market, and performance data to make informed decisions and continually improve marketing effectiveness.
- Maintain a strong understanding of performance marketing and e-commerce economics, including acquisition, conversion, retention, and return on marketing investment.
- Continue to develop the TuxMat brand while protecting what already makes it distinctive.
- Build and coach a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and addressing performance or capability gaps when necessary.
- Evaluate where AI, technology, automation, and new ways of working can make the marketing organization faster and more effective.
- Manage marketing resources and budgets with a strong commercial mindset.
- Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and take ownership for moving the function forward rather than waiting for direction.
What We’re Looking For
You are a marketing leader who has successfully led teams in a fast-moving, consumer-focused business.
You are strategic, but you are also an operator. You don’t believe leadership means sitting several layers away from the work. You are comfortable getting close to the details when needed, while still giving capable people the ownership and space to deliver.
You bring
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including meaningful people leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience leading multiple marketing disciplines rather than a single specialty.
- Strong experience in a consumer, e-commerce, retail, automotive, or product-led environment.
- A strong understanding of digital and performance marketing and how marketing connects to commercial results.
- Demonstrated ability to turn business objectives into clear priorities and executable plans.
- Strong judgment and the confidence to make decisions with imperfect information.
- Experience developing people, setting expectations, and building accountability within a team.
- The ability to work effectively with senior leaders while bringing your own point of view and constructively challenging ideas when appropriate.
- Comfort working in an entrepreneurial workplace where priorities can move quickly.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technology and a practical understanding of how they are changing modern marketing organizations.
