About Rosedale Readers Learning Centre
Rosedale Readers Learning Centre is a private tutoring centre that provides individualized support for students with a wide range of learning needs. We work with students from Grade 1 and up, offering personalized instruction in math, reading, writing, and spelling.
Our math program uses a structured, evidence-based, multi-sensory approach to help students strengthen core skills, improve mathematical thinking, and develop confidence. Lessons are explicit, thoughtfully paced, and adapted to suit each student's individual strengths, needs, and learning style.
We believe that every student is capable of making progress with the right instruction and encouragement. Difficulty with math or learning does not indicate a lack of ability or effort. Our goal is to help students build stronger math foundations, feel more comfortable with math, manage frustration and anxiety, and recognize their own accomplishments.
About the Position
We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Math Tutor to join our team as an independent contractor.

- Support students in developing mathematical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and confidence
- Encourage students through challenging moments and help them work through mistakes without fear
- Monitor student development and communicate progress clearly and professionally to parents
What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is patient, supportive, and genuinely enjoys working with children who may struggle with math
- Can remain calm, positive, and encouraging when a student is frustrated, overwhelmed, or having a difficult day
- Is currently enrolled in or has completed a university or college program in education, child development, psychology, special education, or a related area (Required)
- Has at least 2 years of experience working with children in tutoring, education, coaching, camps, or a similar setting (Required)
- Is comfortable teaching Grade 1 to Grade 7 mathematics (Required)
- Has experience supporting children with ADHD, dyscalculia, or other learning differences (Strong asset)
- Can break down math concepts into clear, simple explanations and regularly check that students understand
