The responsibilities as a Red Seal certified Mechanic are to:

- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all City-owned and leased vehicles and equipment;
- Conduct welding and fabrication work both in the shop and out in the field;
- Support special projects and collaborate with other departments to ensure fleet readiness; and
- Help keep Port Moody moving—safely and reliably.

The required qualifications as a Red Seal certified Mechanic are:

- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Journeyman with Red Seal Interprovincial qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic (Truck and Transport Mechanic) in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty construction equipment, heavy duty trucks, and machinery




- Valid CVIP Inspector's certificate
- Experience planning and directing a quality assurance program for a wide variety of municipal equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
- Class 3 BC Driver's license with Air Endorsement
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification would be an asset

Working conditions, compensation & benefits:

- This position typically works Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, reporting to our Works Yard;
- Your hourly rate ranges from $48.96 to $52.49 (2026 rate), which is inclusive of a temporary market adjustment (MA) of $3.00/hour. (The regular hourly base rate is $45.96 to $49.49 without the MA amount); and
