The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-For-Profit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-PASS, food services, and the student health and dental plan. SUS also provides support to an active community by organizing events, overseeing clubs and associations, and providing wellness and developmental programming.

Position: Media Production Coordinator

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: $45,000+ plus advantages

Reporting to: Marketing & Communications Manager

Position Description The Media Production Coordinator is responsible for producing high-quality, polished video content that supports SUS events, campaigns, services, and student engagement initiatives. The position coordinates the day-to-day production process from filming and footage management through editing, post-production, revisions, and final delivery.

Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Marketing & Communications team, the Media Production Coordinator combines strong technical production skills with creative storytelling to create professional long-form and short-form content for SUS digital platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Produce and edit polished long-form and short-form video content from raw footage through final delivery.
- Ensure all photo and video content is on-brand and consistent across platforms.
- Take professional photos and film SUS events, interviews, campaigns, student-life activities,



and other organizational content.
- Review footage and identify the strongest moments, visuals, and soundbites for each story.
- Use Adobe Lightroom for photo editing, colour correction, and organization.
- Build engaging edits with strong openings, pacing, transitions, and narrative structure.
- Incorporate B-roll, music, sound effects, graphics, titles, and motion elements where appropriate.
- Complete post-production work including colour correction, audio cleanup, and final finishing.
- Repurpose long-form footage into platform-specific short-form content.
- Set up and operate cameras, microphones, lighting, and other production equipment.
- Collaborate with the team on creative direction and contribute original production ideas.
- Stay current with video trends, emerging formats, and production technologies, including the appropriate and responsible use of AI-assisted tools.
- Maintain organized footage, project files, equipment, production schedules, and multiple deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

- Demonstrate professional experience in video production and post-production.
- Robust proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable professional editing software.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and an understanding of pacing, composition, and audience engagement.
- Experience filming in a variety of environments, including events, interviews, indoor, and outdoor settings.
- Strong technical understanding of cameras, lighting, microphones, and production equipment.




- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of quality across multiple projects.
- Ability to take creative direction, respond to feedback, and contribute independent ideas.
- A strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating polished production, creative decision-making, and storytelling ability.

Good to Have

- Familiarity with website platforms and content management systems, such as Squarespace or similar tools to upload, format, optimize, and publish content.
- Experience troubleshooting or coordinating technical equipment for events and media production.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and other complementary media-production skills.

Compensation and Benefits SUS is committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance through a competitive benefits package and generous paid leave, including an annual winter holiday closure.

- An annual salary of $45,000+
- A comprehensive health and dental benefits plan.
- Employer RRSP contributions of up to 6% following a qualifying period.
- Twelve days of annual vacation.
- A winter holiday closure of approximately two weeks at the end of December (inclusive of statutory holidays).
- A monthly cell phone allowance.
