Medical Office Assistant REQUIRED – Full-Time, Temporary, Maternity Leave

Temporary Full time position available for maternity leave coverage. This is a fast paced family medical practice with 5 physicians and a nurse practitioner.

Title: Medical Office Assistant – Maternity Leave Coverage

Hours: Monday – Friday – flexible hours ranging from 8 am – 5 pm, 8 hour shifts

Afterhours Urgent Care Clinic 5 pm – 8 pm – scheduled as needed

Requirements:

- Proficient in the use of office equipment
- Skilled in the use of EMR (Accuro an asset)
- Proficient in English both written and oral

- Proficient in Medical Terminology

- Punctual and reliable

- Professional telephone manner
- Excellent patient relations and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and able to multi-task

- High attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast paced setting both as a team member and individually

Duties:

- Responsible for patient registration and maintaining an up-to-date patient data base




- Schedule patient appointments, making appointment confirmation phone calls
- Respond to patient inquiries in a pleasant, courteous, professional and well-informed manner with a positive attitude
- Responsible for in-coming and out-going patient telephone calls
- Maintain patient confidence and keep all patient information confidential
- Faxing (in-coming and out-going)

- Scanning and electronic filing
- Miscellaneous office duties as required

Medical Office Assistant experience preferred but willing to train the potential candidate. Hourly rate of pay depending on experience – starting rate at $20/hour
