Job Title: IBM MQ Administrator

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract

Rate: CAD$50-55/hr INC

The following responsibilities are expected to be performed by the MQ Administrator (Linux based setting)

- Solid knowledge of IBM MQ (v9.x) administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and operational support.
- Create and modify MQ objects such as Queue Managers, Channels, Topics and Queues.
- Configuring WebSphere MQ Queue Managers, Channels, Topics and Queues.
- Monitoring and maintaining Queue Managers, Queues, Topics, Channels, and Listeners.
- Create MQ objects on local and remote MQ servers.
- Enable triggering on MQ Queues.
- Configure and implement Distributed Queuing in Client/Server environments.
- Install and configured latest versions of IBM MQ.
- Configure and monitor MQ Listeners, Channel Initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files, Dead Letter Queues, and Clustering setups.
- Monitor MQ using MQ Explorer and configured MQ Explorer Monitoring tool.




- Participate in MQ DR exercises.
- Use shell (batch) scripting for repetitive tasks, schedulers.
- Understanding basic networking requirements to establish MQ connectivity
- Understanding security settings, different type certificates on Queue manager, channel levels. Be able to install current and renew existing certificates.
- Understanding different types of logging in WAS and MQ
- Working with project teams on new application connections, analyzing and preparing best fitting messaging solutions.
- Good communication skills & well versed with group work, strong problem solving with documentation
