At Renewed Family Services Inc., we support individuals with developmental disabilities and communication needs to reach their full potential and achieve meaningful personal goals through our services which include: respite care, speech-language services, ABA and Mental Health Services. As we expand our services, we are seeking a dedicated Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in client care, with experience in pediatrics supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions that enhance functional independence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs, goals, and medical conditions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for clients.
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies for daily living activities.
- Provide professional direction and supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTAs) where applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment progress, and clinical notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from a recognized program.
- Active General Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Strong working knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and sensory processing approaches.
- Strong interpersonal, family coaching, and clinical communication skills.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
