Overview The Operations Documentation Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining the operational documentation framework that supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role works closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Health Safety and Environment (HSE), Commissioning teams, and equipment vendors to develop clear, practical documentation that enables operators to safely commission, start up, operate, troubleshoot, and shut down plant systems.

During Operational Readiness, the successful candidate will help build the facility's operational knowledge base and ensure documentation remains accurate, compliant, and aligned with the as-built facility throughout commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, and ongoing operations.

Accountabilities





Operations Documentation

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for normal, abnormal, start-up, shutdown, and emergency conditions.
- Create Temporary Operating Instructions (TOIs), alarm response guides, operating philosophies, operator rounds, checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
- Develop shift handover tools, operational logs, and operator support documentation.
- Ensure all documentation reflects current operating practices and facility configuration.

Operational Readiness & Improvement

- Support commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up activities through development of operational documentation.
- Capture lessons learned and incorporate continuous improvements into procedures.
- Participate in readiness reviews and plant handover activities.
- Support operational standardization, process stability, troubleshooting tools, and operating decision-making frameworks.

Documentation & Training Support

- Coordinate technical reviews with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain document control, revision management, and regulatory compliance.
- Support operator training materials, competency assessments, and implementation of revised procedures.
- Contribute to Management of Change (MOC)



activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Operations, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial operations, process engineering, commissioning, technical documentation, or related fields.
- Experience developing operating procedures, commissioning procedures, operating manuals, or technical documentation.
- Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, or operational readiness activities is considered an asset.
- Experience in mining, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial environments is an asset.

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
