We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the Greater Vancouver area, in the manufacturing space, for an Operations Manager to join their leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing day-to-day operations across production and finishing, with accountability for safety, quality, throughput, and team performance on the floor. You'll lead a group of supervisors, lead hands, and maintenance and production staff, and be the driving force behind operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily production meetings, operational planning, and process improvement work
- Set priorities, track performance, and hold the team accountable to safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
- Coach and develop supervisors, lead hands, and production staff, including performance management, cross-training, and succession planning
- Support hiring and workforce planning to make sure the right people are in the right roles
- Work with scheduling to build and execute production plans that hit customer commitments
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and workflow inefficiencies
- Build recovery plans (schedule changes, overtime, reallocation) when delivery timelines are at risk




- Oversee preventive maintenance planning to keep equipment production-ready
- Run regular floor walks and audits to check on safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
- Keep production, labour, and quality data accurate and current in the ERP system
- Bring forward recommendations and solutions to leadership, not just problems

What You Bring

- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Strong people-management skills, with experience coaching and developing supervisors or team leads
- Technical background in fabrication, machining, or a related manufacturing process
- Comfortable using ERP systems and Excel to analyze capacity, labour efficiency, and delivery data
- Experience driving lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Solid planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of cutting, forming, or coating processes is an asset
