Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in using electronic medical records systems such as Epic.
- Assist with patient examinations by preparing necessary equipment and ensuring proper documentation of medical history and vision concerns.
- Support optometrists during eye exams, including setting up testing devices and explaining procedures to patients.
- Manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of patient visits, updates in medical charts, and billing information while adhering to privacy standards.
- Provide optical assistance by helping patients select frames, explaining lens options, and processing retail sales confidently.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment and assisting with age-specific needs during examinations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or optical environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and general healthcare practices.
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, energetic approach to customer service.
- Experience in retail sales or sales-driven roles demonstrates your ability to connect with customers effectively.
- Knowledge of optical products, pediatric care considerations, and retail operations is a plus.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
