Teson Home Care provides compassionate, dependable in-home support to individuals and families across Ontario. Our services include personal care, companionship, respite care, dementia support, elderly care, and post-hospital support.

We are looking for caring, dependable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) committed to helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker with Teson Home Care, you will provide person-centred care based on each client's individual needs, preferences and care plan.

Your responsibilities may include

- Providing assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Assisting clients with mobility, positioning and transfers within the scope of your training
- Supporting meal preparation and basic household tasks related to the client's care
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting clients with maintaining their independence and dignity
- Assisting with respite and post-hospital support
- Providing appropriate support to clients living with dementia or other age-related needs
- Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition, behaviour or level of functioning
- Following the client's care plan and Teson Home Care policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
- Communicating respectfully with clients,



families and members of the care team
- Following infection prevention, health and safety, privacy and confidentiality requirements
- Travel to clients' homes within the assigned service area to provide scheduled care and support
- Performing other duties that are reasonably related to the role and within your training and scope of practice

Qualifications

- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a recognized program or another qualification that meets the requirements applicable to the position
- Demonstrated ability to provide secure, respectful and person-centred care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans and procedures
- Reliability, professionalism and respect for client privacy and dignity
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with accommodation available where required by law
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- A satisfactory police/background check may be required as a condition of employment
- Additional screening, training or documentation may be required for certain client assignments
- Previous experience in home care, community care, long-term care,



or a related setting is considered an asset but is not required unless specifically necessary for a particular assignment.

Availability This role may involve a variety of shifts depending on client needs, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.
