Overview The Plant Finance Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of the manufacturing facility, and providing operational financial guidance to the leadership team at plant and Shared Services. This is an IN-OFFICEposition, requiring collaboration as part of a small accounting team.

Duties

- Oversee the completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Analyze financial data to prepare summaries and ensure efficient and accurate financial results for each period.
- Ownership of the payroll function for hourly employees, ensuring accuracy, weekly data entry, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain responsibility for the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial data in the P&L; and Balance Sheet in accordance with ASPE guidelines.
- Manage bank reconciliations, the accounts payable process, vendor payment controls, accounts receivable management, and cash application, with an emphasis on aged invoices and credit limit monitoring.
- Be the subject matter expert for ERP implementation in the near future.
- Review and analyze manufacturing costs, overhead, and G&A; expenses, offering recommendations for cost management strategies and overhead absorption rates.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording and analysis of revenues and expenses, in line with financial reporting standards.
- Manage provincial and federal government reporting requirements and regulatory tax filings.
- Assist and oversee all physical inventory counts and reconciliation. Manage inventory valuation process.




- Use utmost discretion in dealing with company and customers' confidential data.
- May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent of experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is necessary
- Familiarity with manufacturing ERP (Odyssey, Epicor Kinetic) are considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written English communication
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to resolve issues with other department members and managers
- Strong expertise in Office 365, MS Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs, and be highly organized
