The President &

- Chief Executive Officer (CEO) reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of Salus Mutual. Working collaboratively with the Board, the CEO ensures the organization achieves its strategic objectives while maintaining financial strength, regulatory compliance, exceptional service to policyholders, and a strong organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic &
- Industry Leadership

- Provide strategic leadership and vision that supports the long-term success of the organization.

- Maintain a strong understanding of the property & casualty insurance industry, mutual insurance system, reinsurance, and emerging market trends.

- Foster relationships with industry associations, regulators, reinsurers, and key stakeholders while representing the Company within the mutual insurance community.

Financial &

- Risk Management

- Ensure the Company’s financial strength through sound budgeting, financial oversight, investment management, and performance monitoring.

- Oversee enterprise risk management, capital management, and regulatory compliance to protect the long-term interests of the organization and its policyholders.

Operational Leadership

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Company through an engaged and accountable leadership team.

- Ensure organizational resources, policies, and strategic priorities are effectively aligned to deliver outstanding service and operational excellence.

Leadership &

- Organizational Culture

- Build, develop,



and mentor a high-performing leadership team while fostering a collaborative, ethical, and customer-focused culture.

- Promote employee engagement, innovation, accountability, and continuous professional development throughout the organization.

Board Governance

- Serve as the primary advisor to the Board of Directors by providing timely recommendations, strategic insights, and organizational updates.

- Support effective governance by implementing Board decisions, facilitating strategic planning, and ensuring accurate reporting on organizational performance.

Qualifications The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive with significant leadership experience in the property & casualty (P&C;) insurance industry. They have a proven track record of leading teams, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering solid operational and financial performance within a regulated insurance environment.

Key qualifications include

- Senior executive leadership experience within the property & casualty insurance industry.

- Strong business, financial, and strategic planning acumen.

- Experience working collaboratively with Boards of Directors and supporting sound corporate governance.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while fostering a positive organizational culture.

- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.

- Degree or diploma in business, finance, insurance, or a related discipline.

- Chartered Insurance Skilled (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), or progress toward these designations is considered an asset.
