The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist – Capital Equipment to support a major mining development project in British Columbia.

Working within a dedicated Project Commercial team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement and contract management of critical capital equipment packages supporting mine development and operational readiness.

This role will focus on the sourcing, negotiation, contracting and delivery of complex Engineer-to-Order (ETO) equipment, working closely with project, engineering, construction and operational stakeholders to ensure equipment is procured and delivered in alignment with project schedule, budget and performance requirements.

This is a highly visible role where you will engage with engineering teams, OEMs, EPCM partners, contractors and suppliers to drive successful commercial outcomes across a portfolio of high-value capital equipment packages.

The Role

Key responsibilities include

- Leading pre-award and post-award procurement activities for capital equipment packages.
- Developing procurement and contracting strategies aligned with project delivery objectives.
- Managing market engagement activities, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and tender processes.




- Coordinating commercial and technical bid evaluations in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
- Leading commercial negotiations and preparing recommendations for award.
- Negotiating, drafting and administering supply agreements, purchase orders and associated commercial documentation.
- Managing supplier performance throughout manufacturing, inspection, testing, expediting and delivery phases.
- Overseeing order management activities to ensure equipment delivery milestones are achieved.
- Managing contract amendments, variations, claims and commercial correspondence throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Monitoring supplier risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise schedule and commercial impacts.
- Coordinating equipment handover activities to construction, commissioning and operations teams.
- Building strong relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), fabricators and key project suppliers.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that optimise value, cost and project delivery outcomes.
- Understanding project stage-gating requirements and executing procurement activities within these demands.

About You

Successful candidates will bring

- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in procurement, contracts, project commercial or supply chain roles.
- Demonstrated experience procuring capital equipment for major projects within mining, resources, energy, infrastructure, industrial or construction environments.
- Strong experience managing Engineer-to-Order (ETO) equipment procurement packages.
- Proven background supporting major capital projects from study, execution and delivery phases.




- Sound understanding of commercial and contractual terms related to equipment supply agreements.
- Experience leading complex sourcing events, commercial evaluations and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of procurement lifecycle activities, including procurement planning, sourcing, contract award and post-award supplier management.
- Experience managing supplier performance across manufacturing, expediting, inspection, delivery and close-out activities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
- Advanced negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience with ERP and project commercial systems such as SAP, SAP Ariba, Aconex and Contruent or similar platforms.
- Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Mine development project experience highly regarded.
