Production Scheduler / Job Tracker

About the Position

Dieffenbacher North America is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Scheduler / Job Tracker to join our manufacturing team in Windsor, Ontario.

This position is responsible for tracking jobs from release through completion, coordinating priorities across the shop, monitoring schedules, and communicating progress to ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and according to customer requirements.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will have a solid understanding of how jobs move through fabrication, machining, assembly, and production. Wage subject to experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain production schedules for multiple jobs and projects.
- Track jobs from initial release through fabrication, machining, assembly, inspection, and shipment.
- Monitor job progress and identify delays, bottlenecks, and potential scheduling issues.
- Work closely with Production, Estimating, Project Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality.
- Maintain accurate job status reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Coordinate priorities between departments and ensure upcoming work is clearly communicated.
- Monitor material availability and identify potential shortages that could affect production.
- Follow up on outstanding tasks, materials, drawings, and subcontracted work.
- Maintain realistic completion dates and update schedules as priorities change.
- Identify jobs that are falling behind and work with the appropriate departments to develop recovery plans.
- Assist with capacity planning and allocation of shop resources.
- Maintain accurate job-tracking information in ERP/SAP systems and spreadsheets.
- Help improve production flow, scheduling methods, and overall shop efficiency.

Qualifications




- 2+ years of experience in production scheduling, job tracking, production coordination, or project coordination in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow.
- Experience with fabrication, machining, welding, or heavy industrial equipment is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing schedules.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems. (SAP)
- Ability to read and understand production drawings and job documentation is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Ability to identify problems before they become production delays.
