EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
SAFE HARBOUR HOUSE PROGRAM MANAGER
FT Contract / 40 hours per week / Pay range $62,500 – $68,500
Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Safe Harbour House programs and perform all duties in accordance with the Elizabeth Fry Society’s Policies and Procedures, values, organizational mandate and standards of conduct.
- Develop and implement all aspects of the Safe Harbour House Programs in consultation with the Executive Director, Operations Director, and Program and Policy Committees of the Board of Directors.
- Collect statistical data, prepare and submit monthly reports as requested by the City of Sudbury
- Monitor and ensure that program targets and outcomes are met
- Purchase and maintain required items for program function (i.e. cleaning supplies, toiletries, food, etc.)
- Participate in program review meetings with the Executive Director, Operations Director and Program Committee of the Board of Directors
Personnel Management:
- Participate with the Executive Director and Operations Director in the recruitment and selection of Safe Harbour House staff
- Deliver orientation and training to Safe Harbour House staff
- Directly supervise and provide support and guidance to Safe Harbour House staff in fulfilling their responsibilities
- Be on-call as required to answer emergency phone calls from Safe Harbour House staff
- Ongoing supervision and monitoring of the program personnel
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all Safe Harbour House staff and provide to management
- Inform staff management and/or Board of decisions and policies that impact on work
- Ensure the provision of appropriate ongoing training and job-related career development opportunities for shelter staff
- Train and supervise volunteers involved in the Safe Harbour House Program
- Ensure compliance with all policies,
procedures and standards in the delivery of the program
- Schedule personnel to deliver all services
- Report any problems or concerns to the Executive Director and/or Operations Director
- Represent Elizabeth Fry Society of Northeastern Ontario in a professional manner at all times, maintaining a positive, cooperative, supportive attitude and appearance.
- Partake in Agency events as required, including but not limited to, Elizabeth Fry week, all-agency meetings, clean up days, chores, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum post-secondary education in a related field (Social Service Worker, Social Work, Mental Health and Addictions)
- Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
- CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention, CPR and First Aid, Suicide Intervention training.
- 3-5 years’ knowledge of human resources practices and supervisory/managerial experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience working with women and gender diverse people who face multiple barriers, such as poverty, isolation, discrimination, trauma, criminalization, mental illness, substance use and homelessness.
- 3-5 years’ experience working with women in a residential setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve conflict in a respectful, constructive manner.
- Strong organizational, leadership, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Housing First Principles.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Experience using HIFIS software.
- Excellent recording and data collection skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication.
- Community relations, public education and collaborative skills.
- Bilingualism considered an asset.
Pay: $62,500.00-$68,500.00 per year
