About South Asian Community Hub (SACH):

The South Asian Community Hub (SACH) is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underserved South Asian individuals and families across British Columbia. SACH provides culturally responsive, low-barrier services and supports for people experiencing barriers related to mental health, substance use, housing instability, poverty, access to healthcare, and other social and economic challenges.

Through community outreach, health and wellness clinics, service navigation, advocacy, education, and partnerships, SACH works to meet people where they are and connect individuals and families with the services and supports they need. Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a SACH Program and Outreach Lead for a part-time contract role to coordinate the delivery of SACH's community programs, outreach activities and engagement initiatives.

Working under the direction of the Executive Director and alongside SACH's Senior Advisor, Programs & Outreach, the contractor will combine hands-on community outreach with program coordination, partner engagement, team and volunteer coordination, and program tracking and reporting. The role will play a key role across a range of activities, from engaging directly with community members experiencing significant barriers to coordinating community clinics and outreach initiatives, engaging service partners, tracking program activities and outcomes, and representing SACH at designated community tables and events.

This role is well suited to someone who is organized, relationship-focused, and passionate about improving access to culturally responsive services and supports for underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead the day-to-day coordination and implementation of assigned SACH programs, outreach initiatives, community clinics and engagement activities.

● Develop and maintain program workplans, schedules,



activities and timelines in collaboration with SACH leadership.

● Track program deliverables and ensure activities are completed in accordance with program priorities and funding commitments.

● Support the development and implementation of new initiatives in response to identified community needs.

● Identify service gaps, operational challenges and emerging needs, and bring forward recommendations to SACH leadership.

● Lead and participate in community outreach with underserved South Asian individuals, including people experiencing homelessness or housing instability, substance use, mental health concerns and other barriers to accessing services.

● Build trusted relationships using culturally responsive, trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches.

● Connect community members with appropriate health, housing, income, mental health, substance use, settlement and other community services.

● Provide service navigation, referrals, advocacy and follow-up within the scope of SACH programs.

● Identify emerging community needs and trends and communicate these to SACH leadership.

● Coordinate partner participation and logistics for SACH clinics, Outdoor Community Hubs, outreach activities, workshops and community events.

● Represent SACH at designated community meetings, committees, networks and events. ● Identify opportunities for collaboration and strengthen pathways between community members and available services.

● Support SACH fundraising, education and community engagement activities as required.

● Coordinate and support SACH community clinics, outreach events, workshops, education sessions and community engagement initiatives.

● Coordinate event logistics including partner outreach, schedules, volunteers, supplies, service providers and on-site operations.

● Provide day-to-day coordination and direction to outreach staff and volunteers assigned to programs and events.

● Maintain accurate records and program trackers for outreach, referrals, clinics, events, partnerships and program outcomes.

● Support program data collection, evaluation, funder reporting, impact summaries and program updates.

● Gather community and partner feedback to inform program planning and improvement.





● Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.

● Participate in regular program planning, team meetings and check-ins with SACH leadership.

● Support special projects and other related activities within the scope of the contract.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

● Post-secondary diploma or degree in social services, community development, public health, health sciences or a related field. A combination of relevant education, lived experience and demonstrated community-based experience may be considered.

● Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in community outreach, program coordination, community health, social services or a related field.

● Demonstrated experience coordinating community programs, outreach activities, projects or events.

● Experience working with underserved communities and an understanding of equity, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed practice and harm reduction.

● Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

● Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage respectfully with diverse communities.

● Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual meeting tools such as Zoom.

● Experience working with South Asian communities and/or language skills in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu or other South Asian languages are considered assets.

Work Setting & Other Requirements:

● Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends for community events or outreach activities.

● Ability to travel within Surrey and other parts of Metro Vancouver / Fraser Valley for outreach, clinics, and events.

● Valid BC driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for local travel

Compensation:

● $32.00 per hour, up to 21 hours per week.
