Minimum Age Requirement: Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.

The City of Thompson invites qualified applicants to submit a resume for consideration for the part time Public Skate Patrol position at the Thompson Regional Community Centre.

The candidate will have the ability to receive, understand and apply written and verbal instruction, to deal effectively with co-workers, and have the ability to communicate effectively with the general public, and ability to do shift work is required.

Candidates must hold or have the ability to acquire an Emergency First Aid certificate. They must also provide their own skates as they may be required to gain access to the ice surface to patrol during skating times. Candidates must deal with the public pleasantly at all times and assist with maintenance and programs during the winter season.

Duties include patrolling the arena(s) during public, family skates, and special event skating. Ensure individuals are following the rules pertaining to the use of the facility while skating.



Placing pylons on the ice to separate the ice surface for beginner skaters.

Please note the position is conditional upon the successful passing of a

Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
