Brantwood Community Services is hosting an in-person recruitment event to fill multiple positions due to the ongoing development in the developmental sector!
Are you compassionate, dependable, and passionate about supporting individuals to live their best lives? We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our growing team!
- What: You will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and/or community settings. You will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, inclusion, and overall well-being.
- When: September 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Where: Brantwood Community Centre, 25 Bell Lane, Brantford ON (Abilities Centre)
- Who: All qualified G Licenced candidates will be considered! We're seeking professionals who have graduated in any of the following human service-related fields of study; CYW, ECE, DSW, SSW etc.
Candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends. Scheduled hours will vary depending on the needs of the people supported.
- Candidates MUST have relevant experience and education.
- Candidates NEED to have full G licence (no G1 or G2 applications will be considered)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Foster life skills, social engagement, and community participation
- Support community based goals for people supported in group living! This could relate to daily living activities and social/recreational activities that promote inclusion and belonging in our community!
- Travel with people supported in Brantwood vehicles and on public transit within the community of Brantford and surrounding areas, occasional trips out of town
- Provide individualized supports (i.e., mental, physical, spiritual, behavioural, emotional)
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
- Implement and follow behaviour support plans
- Assist with personal care (bathing, meal preparation, dressing, routine hygiene etc.)
- Administering medications
- Assisting with the development of care plans and goal development
- Completing detailed documentation
Successful Applicants will be required to provide:
- Police Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (no more than 3 months old)
- Brantwood Pre-Employment Health form
- Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination
- 3 Year Driver's Record Search
- Proof of current Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED certification
- Proof of educational qualifications
