We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Massage Therapist to join our team at Guelph Sports Medicine. This is a brand new clinic that will have sports medicine physician services with adjunctive allied health treatment. A large volume of clients are expected to see the sports medicine physicians and therefore lots of opportunities for new clients.
In this role, you will provide qualified massage therapy services that promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall well-being for our diverse clientele. Your expertise will help clients achieve their health goals through personalized treatment plans, fostering a welcoming and healing environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on clients’ lives while working in a supportive and energetic setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality massage therapy treatments tailored to each client’s specific needs, utilizing various techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, or trigger point therapy
- Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their health history, current concerns, and treatment goals
- Maintain clear communication with clients throughout sessions to ensure comfort and satisfaction
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate follow-up treatments or lifestyle adjustments
- Keep detailed records of treatments provided, including progress notes and treatment plans in compliance with licensing standards
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of treatment areas and equipment in accordance with health regulations
- Stay informed about the latest developments in massage therapy techniques and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Valid registration and licensing as a Massage Therapist with the appropriate regulatory body
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to health conditions and treatment planning
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive client relationships
- Effective communication skills to clearly explain procedures, answer questions, and provide guidance
- Prior experience in a clinical or wellness setting is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates are encouraged to apply with relevant training credentials
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Flexibility to accommodate client scheduling needs, including evenings and weekends
