Overview
This position is for our Bishop Location (1-1720 Bishop Street North, Cambridge)

This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated within the organization and the overall business objectives of the organization.
· Build and maintain positive and responsive relationships with each child in your care
· Apply professional knowledge of child development, learning theories and pedagogical and curriculum approaches to plan, implement, document and assess child-centred, inquiry and play-based learning experiences
· Design and/or modify indoor and outdoor learning environments to support children’s self-regulation, independence, reasonable risk-taking, meaningful exploration and positive interactions
· Participate in the supervision, training and mentoring of students, casual employees and volunteer
· Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing procedures are completed thoroughly and consistently.
· Prioritize the children’s health, safety and well-being
· Assist in day-to-day administration and records keeping
· Ensure that the environment is safe and accessible for all children and families
· Recognize and respond to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate instruction and behaviour management techniques
· Review and become familiar with Individual Support/Medical Plans concerning children’s relevant medical conditions, special needs, disabilities, allergies, medication requirements, and emergency contact information
· Build and maintain responsive and collaborative relationships with families
· Build connections and collaborate with community partners to enhance programs
· Establish safe, consistent routines and foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment
· Work collaboratively with your classroom team and being an active and positive participant of the center
· Attend all required training sessions, career development opportunities, staff meetings, conferences, and family events as required
· Take appropriate steps to ensure that all aspects of the classroom and environment comply with Little Scholar’s Program Statement and Philosophy, policies and procedures, public health and licensing standards
Working Conditions
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to work in cold and hot environments
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Standard Level C certificate
- Up-to-date immunization records
Pay: $26.00-$27.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
