We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Labour, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) team at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. The focus of care is antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and recovery care, including obstetrical surgical and recovery care. Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse provides care within the scope of practice as defined by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.

The RN will be guided by their education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and Alberta Health Services policies, procedures and position description. In this role you will use focused assessment, critical thinking and clinical judgment to care for patients and families through some of the most significant - and at times most difficult - hours of their lives, working alongside an interdisciplinary team of obstetricians, family physicians, anesthesia, NICU/pediatrics and other health care colleagues. You will teach, counsel and advocate for patients and their families, and support a positive and welcoming unit culture.

This is a temporary part-time position on a day/evening rotation to April 4, 2027.

Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.



You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.

PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
