About Rahao Psychotherapy

Rahao Psychotherapy is a growing psychotherapy practice providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to clients across Ontario.

Our work commonly supports individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and childhood wounds, difficult family dynamics, relationship concerns, cultural and intergenerational expectations, attachment patterns, grief, identity, neurodivergence, and major life transitions.

As Rahao grows, we are looking for an Associate Therapist who values depth, warmth, cultural humility, and authentic therapeutic relationships.

About the Role

Rahao Psychotherapy is seeking a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), or Registered Social Worker (RSW) to join the practice as an independent contractor.

This position may be particularly well suited to a therapist who wants to build and maintain a private-practice caseload while being part of a growing practice and receiving referrals, administrative infrastructure, and practice support.

Sessions will initially be offered virtually to clients located in Ontario. Rahao Psychotherapy is currently in the process of establishing an in-person clinic location, and the successful candidate may be expected to offer in-person sessions once a clinic space is established.

The successful candidate will provide ethical, competent, culturally responsive, and client-centred psychotherapy in accordance with the standards of their applicable regulatory college.

Expected start date: October 1, 2026

Who We're Looking For

We would love to hear from clinicians who:

- Are registered and in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as an RP or RP (Qualifying), or the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as a Registered Social Worker (RSW)
- Hold a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline that supports the required professional registration
- Maintain appropriate professional liability insurance
- Are legally authorized and clinically eligible to provide psychotherapy services in Ontario
- Are available to maintain a caseload of approximately 10–15+ client sessions per week as their caseload develops
- Demonstrate experience providing trauma-informed psychotherapy
- Demonstrate strong professional boundaries, ethical judgment, and clinical documentation practices
- Are comfortable working independently while remaining receptive to consultation, collaboration, and feedback
- Approach clients with warmth, curiosity, compassion, and cultural humility
- Have an interest in trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-oriented psychotherapy
- Feel comfortable supporting clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, attachment concerns, grief, identity, neurodivergence, and life transitions
- Are reliable and responsive with scheduling, documentation,



and client communication
- Are interested in gradually building and maintaining a consistent caseload

Approximately 3 years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.

Clinical Approaches

Training or experience in one or more of the following is considered an asset:

EFT / attachment-based approaches IFS / parts-informed work Psychodynamic therapy EMDR CBT DBT ACT Mindfulness Trauma-informed and somatic approaches Culturally responsive psychotherapy

We are particularly interested in clinicians with EMDR training and/or experience providing couples therapy.

You do not need to practice exactly like the clinic owner. We value clinicians developing their own therapeutic identity while remaining aligned with Rahao Psychotherapy's overall values, ethical standards, and approach to client care.

Ability to provide psychotherapy in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, or another language is an asset, but is not required. Responsibilities The Associate Therapist will be responsible for:

- Providing individual and/or couples psychotherapy within their scope of competence
- Maintaining timely, accurate, confidential, and clinically appropriate documentation
- Obtaining and documenting informed consent
- Completing appropriate risk assessment and safety planning when clinically indicated
- Maintaining registration in good standing with their applicable regulatory college
- Maintaining appropriate professional liability insurance
- Maintaining any required clinical supervision independently and in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Communicating professionally and promptly with clients and the practice
- Managing their availability and completing documentation within established timelines
- Collaborating appropriately regarding referrals, client care, and practice procedures
- Maintaining professional, ethical, confidentiality, and privacy standards

Schedule & Caseload This is a flexible, caseload-based independent contractor position.

The successful candidate should be available to maintain approximately 10–15+ client sessions per week as their caseload develops,



with the opportunity for additional growth based on referrals and availability.

Some evening and/or weekend availability is strongly preferred, as these are frequently requested appointment times.

Please note that referrals and caseload size may fluctuate, and Rahao Psychotherapy cannot guarantee a specific number of clients, sessions, or hours.

Compensation

This is an independent contractor position with a 60/40 fee split, with 60% of collected session fees paid to the Associate Therapist and 40% retained by Rahao Psychotherapy.

Client referrals, administrative infrastructure, practice systems, marketing, and other practice-related supports will be discussed during the interview process.
