We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred, along with strong math and customer service skills.
This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food handling, POS systems, and upselling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, to process customer orders quickly and accurately
- Handle cash transactions, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Assist customers with food ordering, inquiries, and upselling additional menu items when appropriate
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained at all times
- Support food preparation and service as needed to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and dining area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently
- Uphold excellent customer service standards by greeting guests warmly and addressing any concerns professionally
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cashiering, or food service preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols in the food industry
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to handle peak hours effectively
- Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Kitchen experience or restaurant background is a plus but not required
