Position Overview:

SJ is currently seeking an experienced, hands on and motivated Residential Site Superintendent (Working Site Super) to oversee and lead operations on multiple residential job sites across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone with a strong trades background who enjoys being on-site, problem-solving, and leading teams from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Act as a working supervisor, remaining hands-on and involved in all aspects of residential construction, including formwork, framing, rough carpentry, and interior finishing.
- Utilize construction management software such as Buildertrend for project tracking, scheduling, and reporting.




- Review blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate execution of work.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal team members to ensure smooth site operations.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to site personnel, fostering a safe, productive, and accountable work environment.
- Address on-site issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Ensure job sites meet all safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

- Proven experience in a supervisory role within residential construction.
- Red Seal Carpenter certification preferred, or equivalent hands-on residential construction experience.
- Strong understanding of residential construction processes, quality control, budgeting, blueprint reading, and estimating.
- Basic understanding of the BC Building Code, with working knowledge of how it applies to electrical, plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Proficiency with construction management software; Buildertrend is an asset.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, trades, inspectors, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to project management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant worksite at all times.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
