OverviewResidential Snow Removal Subcontractor – Glen Abbey / Oakville

Oakery Woods is looking for an extremely reliable snow removal subcontractor to take responsibility for a tight residential route in Glen Abbey, Oakville for the 2026–2027 winter season.

The route will consist of approximately 15–30 residential properties, with the majority located close together in Glen Abbey and a small number elsewhere in Oakville.

This position is best suited to an experienced snow removal operator, independent contractor, or small landscaping/snow company looking for a consistent residential route for the winter.

Compensation

$150 per property, per month

With an estimated route of 15–30 properties, compensation is expected to be approximately $2,250–$4,500 per month, depending on the final number of properties assigned.

Contract term: December 1, 2026 to April 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

- Clearing residential driveways and front walkways
- Servicing properties after snowfall reaches the 2-inch trigger
- Completing the route within 12 hours after the snowfall ends
- Being available 24/7 and on-call during snow events, including overnight, early morning, weekends and holidays
- Returning to explicit end-of-driveway snow left by municipal plows where required
- Recording service notes at every property, including driveway completed, front walk completed, end of driveway completed when applicable, and time of service

This is a snow route, and reliability is the most important part of the position. When a qualifying snowfall occurs, the person responsible for the route must be available and committed to completing it properly regardless of the time or day.



Equipment The ideal subcontractor will have:
- Their own reliable truck or vehicle suitable for winter conditions
- Their own professional snowblower(s)
- Previous residential snow removal experience

However, we are also willing to consider an exceptionally reliable candidate without all required equipment. Providing a truck and/or snow removal equipment may be possible for the right person. No trailer is required for this route.

Who We’re Looking For

Previous residential snow removal experience is preferred, but reliability, communication and work ethic are equally important.

We are looking for someone who:

- Takes ownership of their route
- Is dependable during every snow event
- Communicates clearly
- Treats customers and their properties with respect
- Can work independently without needing constant supervision
- Understands that snow removal requires irregular hours and commitment during winter weather

There may also be an opportunity to develop a longer-term working relationship beyond this winter for the right person or company.

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions
- Ability to perform physical snow removal work
- Available on-call throughout the contract period
- Smartphone capable of communicating and recording service information
