Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper
Status: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Edmonton, AB
Salary: $65K -$75K
We are working with a client to find an experienced, dedicated Senior Bookkeeper for the head office. The Head Office is responsible for all accounting, payroll, human resources administration, regulatory reporting, and banking functions.
What You Will Be Doing:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple entities.
- Handle AP and AR.
- Enter and process vendor invoices.
- Prepare and process vendor payments by cheque, EFT and credit card.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting.
- Review and maintain accurate QuickBooks records.
- Help align and reconcile P&L; statements across entities.
Payroll
- Process bi-monthly/month-end payroll using QuickBooks Desktop.
- Review employee hours, salaries, deductions and taxes.
- Complete CRA payroll remittances
- Prepare ROEs and final payroll for departing employees.
- Support payroll-related reporting and documentation.
HR & Benefits Administration
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Maintain employee records.
- Administer employee advantages and enrollment.
- Process ROEs and termination documentation.
- Support WCB administration.
Process Improvement
- Review existing accounting and payroll processes.
- Identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Solid full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting is highly preferred.
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience.
- Solid payroll processing experience.
- Experience with AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of CRA remittances, GST and WCB.
- Experience with banking platforms and EFT payments.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership.
- Comfortable building processes and documentation from scratch.
