What You’ll DoWe are seeking a reliable, motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate & Installer to join our team. In this dual role, you will provide exceptional customer service, share product knowledge, and install various products such as bike racks, storage boxes, hitches, and other outdoor/vehicle equipment. This position requires a blend of hands-on installation skills and effective communication to convey product features and benefits.
Previous installation knowledge and experience is an asset. This role will have 1-2 shifts per week most of the year but has more shifts available during the summer period.
Sales & Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs using a consultative sales approach.
- Provide detailed product information, including features, benefits, and installation options.
- Assist with product demonstrations and recommend suitable accessories or add-ons.
- Process transactions accurately and manage customer orders, returns, and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate store records, including invoices, sales receipts, purchase orders,
appointment bookings, special requests, hold tags, phone messages, inventory transfers, and cash outs.
Product Installation:
- Install products such as bike racks, storage boxes, hitches, and other gear efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Provide guidance to customers on product use and maintenance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for any installation-related issues.
Inventory & Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked.
- Keep installation tools and work areas organized and clean.
- Collaborate closely with the sales and technical team; stay updated on new products, promotions, and company policies.
- Contribute to improving processes related to customer service and product installation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Comfort with installing roof racks and working under vehicles (e.g., for hitch installations)
- Perform other related duties, as required.
What You’ll Earn We want you to feel comfortable and be able to support your authentic lifestyle. As part of our unique compensation package, you will earn spiffs on certain sales and installations in addition to your base hourly wage. Different from commission,
our spiffs are very attainable and are a substantial part of your compensation.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience;
- Automotive and/or mechanical knowledge preferred;
- Passion for adventure and/or cars;
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills;
- Ability to communicate professionally with our community and gear guides;
- Capacity to work well in a team and collaborate with others;
- Safety-first mindset; and
- Ability to contribute to a respectful culture and healthy work environment
