Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation, particularly for children and seniors. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to maintain a positive environment while on the road. The Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers while adhering to scheduled routes and times.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a bus along designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and mechanical soundness.
- Assist passengers, including children and seniors, in boarding and alighting from the bus.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a friendly manner.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Keep accurate records of passenger counts, route changes, and incidents as required.




- Foster a positive atmosphere on the bus by engaging with passengers through conversation or activities when appropriate.

Requirements

- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Experience working with children or in senior care settings is highly desirable.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is an advantage.
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively, demonstrating solid teaching skills when necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal, Internship / Co-op Pay: $18.85-$24.00 per hour
