JOB SUMMARY The Senior Accounting Analyst is a key contributor to the monthly close, financial reporting, and cash flow management. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely month‑end close, balance sheet integrity, and meaningful financial analysis to support management decision‑making. The position also provides day‑to‑day guidance and oversight to a junior accounting analyst and supports continuous improvement of reporting and consolidation processes.

WHO ARE YOU?

You are an experienced accounting professional with deep expertise in financial analysis and month end close. With great rigor and excellent organizational skills, you are able to manage complex tasks while meeting tight deadlines. You have a good command of accounting standards, ERP tools and software such as Excel.

Your ability to work under pressure, analyze data,



and communicate clearly with different departments allows you to make informed decisions and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's financial processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Month‑End Close & Accounting Operations

- Lead and execute the full monthly close process for New Look, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to timelines.

- Prepare and review marketing accruals and other month‑end journal entries.

- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and IFRS requirements.

- Proactively identify and resolve accounting issues arising during month‑end.

Balance Sheet & Reconciliations

- Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for the New Look banner.

- Investigate variances, resolve reconciling items, and ensure balances are well supported.

- Maintain high standards of documentation and audit readiness.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

- Prepare the monthly reporting package for the NLVG division, including:

- Balance Sheet

- Cash Flow

- Working Capital analysis and commentary

- Provide clear, concise insights and explanations for period‑over‑period movements.

- Support reporting manager and senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis as required.

Cash Flow Forecast

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the weekly cash flow forecast for the business.

Consolidation & Systems

- Perform and maintain GL account mapping in the consolidation software for NLVG reporting purposes.

- Support data accuracy and consistency between local ledgers and consolidated reporting.

- Participate in system enhancements, reporting improvements, and process standardization initiatives.

Leadership & Supervision

- Provide functional supervision, training,



and review of work performed by one Accounting Analyst.

- Ensure tasks are appropriately delegated, reviewed, and completed on time.

- Support development of team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Ad Hoc & Special Projects

- Support ad hoc accounting, reporting, and analysis requests.

- Participate in finance projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance (CPA an asset)

- 5-7 years of experience in closing months and team management or similar position

- Experience in the retail and inventory sector (an asset)

- Bilingual, French - English spoken and written

- Proficiency in the Great Plains accounting system (an asset)
