Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for external financial reporting for lenders and other stakeholders as well as preparing internal account reconciliations, analyses, and providing operational support.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly financial statements, quarterly statutory reports and annual budgets
- Liaise with external auditors for the year-end audit process
- Prepare GST filings as required
- Prepare and assist in filing corporate tax returns and partnership returns
- Perform operational analyses, including actual vs budget, monitoring KPIs
- Manage AR, AP, and bank functions prepared by junior staff members
- Ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications:

- Designated CPA (or passed CFE) with public practice experience focusing on privately-owned businesses preferred or equivalent industry experience




- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Excellent customer service and strong technical accounting skills
- Experience with corporate tax and Microsoft Dynamics is highly desired
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and enjoy streamlining processes
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Detail-oriented, highly organized and excel in meeting multiple deadlines
- Experience in the property management and/or development is a strong asset but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
