A career as a Senior Analyst within National Bank’s Canadian Tax Operations team means serving as an expert in the evolution and reliability of the processes that support our tax information reporting.

The team is responsible for issuing Canadian tax information slips for non-registered accounts, including T5/RL-3, T3/RL-16, T5013/RL-15, T5008/RL-18 and NR4 slips, as well as the related tax remittances and reconciliations.

You work cross-functionally on regulatory changes, system enhancements and complex issues. Through your expertise, analytical skills, influencing leadership and interest in new technologies, you help anticipate risks and advance the quality, efficiency and robustness of our operations.

Your role

- Monitor regulatory changes and new business needs, analyze their impacts on tax reporting, processes, data, systems and controls, and recommend required actions
- Analyze and translate business needs into functional or technical requirements and coordinate work with development teams and various partners through implementation
- Define validation strategies and test scenarios, coordinate or perform required testing, and make the necessary recommendations before production releases
- Analyze end-to-end processes and data to identify risks, interdependencies and root causes of issues
- Take ownership of complex operational, regulatory or technical issues requiring the involvement of multiple areas and coordinate their resolution
- Monitor the planning of tax reporting cycles and lead post-mortem analyses by identifying risks, issues and improvements that help secure deliverables
- Identify, assess, recommend and contribute to implementing improvements to processes and controls, including through the integration of new technologies, artificial intelligence solutions and automation
- Act as a subject-matter expert for the team and partners, explain complex topics clearly and contribute to the development of collective expertise

Your team

Join a team specializing in Canadian Tax Operations for non-registered accounts. As a cross-functional team,



we support all of the organization’s legal entities and collaborate with numerous internal and external partners. Our workplace combines constantly evolving regulatory requirements, interconnected systems and processes, and reporting cycles with strict deadlines.

During tax season, the team also handles a high volume of support requests from Client Service teams and partners on tax matters requiring specialized expertise. Everyone contributes to this collective effort to ensure the continuity and quality of our operations. The Advisor role connects operational expertise, regulatory requirements and technology partners.

Prerequisites

- Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field (completed or in progress), or any other combination of education and relevant experience deemed equivalent
- Significant experience in financial operations, business analysis, taxation or a complex regulated environment
- Knowledge of Canadian tax information slips is a strong asset
- Excellent analytical, synthesis and complex problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand interactions between operational processes, data, systems and regulatory requirements
- High degree of autonomy and sound judgment, with influencing leadership and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Excellent communication skills in both official languages, orally and in writing, as well as the ability to explain complex topics clearly and adapt communications to different audiences
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Strong interest in new technologies and the ability to identify relevant use cases for artificial intelligence,



automation and analytical tools to solve business problems or improve processes
