We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help our clients build modern data platforms, pipelines, and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and the broader Azure ecosystem.

The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work with our consulting team and clients to design, build, test, and deploy data solutions — spanning data engineering, integration, transformation, modelling, and the deployment/automation of analytics solutions.

Depending on the project, you may work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Power BI, SQL, and Python.

This is a hands-on technical role with a strong consulting component: you'll work directly with project teams and clients to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver reliable data platforms.

What You'll Do

- Design and build modern data pipelines, data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse solutions.
- Develop data integration and transformation processes using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and/or Azure Synapse.
- Write complex SQL, stored procedures, views, and Python-based transformations.
- Build and maintain reliable ETL/ELT processes across a variety of data sources.
- Develop and maintain data models and architectures that support analytics and reporting.
- Implement data validation, testing, QA, and monitoring processes.
- Use Git and CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps, Python, or PowerShell) to promote solutions across dev, test, and production.
- Gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specs, and communicate clearly with client stakeholders.
- Document solutions, share knowledge with the team,



and help improve engineering and deployment practices.

What You'll Bring

- Solid hands-on data engineering experience in Azure, with direct exposure to the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (required); Azure Synapse experience is a plus.
- Experience building data pipelines with Fabric Data Factory, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or comparable tools.
- Experience with Python for data engineering, automation, or scripting.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT, data quality, testing, and data governance.
- Git and DevOps/CI/CD experience is an asset.
- Power BI or other BI experience is an asset.
- Ability to work directly with clients and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Based in Calgary, willing to work onsite with clients as required.

Education & Experience

- 5 years of professional IT experience, with at least 3 years in data engineering.
- Bachelor's degree, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Azure or Data Engineering certifications are an asset; Microsoft Fabric certification is a strong asset.
