Overview

Albany Medical Clinic is seeking a reliable, friendly, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a 1-year contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent patient service while supporting the clinic’s day-to-day administrative operations.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems PSS
- Patient Check-In & Demographic Update
- Verify all key patient information (Health card number, version code, expiration date, address, phone number, DOB, pharmacy information, email and voicemail consents, roster status).
- Prepare invoice and process payments as per physician instructions
- Reschedule/cancel appointments as required
- Respond to physician messages/tasks especially for booking patients within specified timeline;
- Calling patients with appointment reminders
- Schedule pap visits, flu shots; Schedule diabetic patients for periodic visits




- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure care plans are well documented
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Skills

- Minimum 1 year experience working as a medical receptionist
- Knowledge of TELUS PSS is an asset
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Comfortable working in a busy medical clinic environment
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Must be available for day and evening shifts, Monday through Sunday

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
