The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.

Job Information

The Senior Project Manager, Client Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Projects is responsible for leading large scale IT infrastructure projects for the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) Departments. The position is the senior project manager and Client advocate within the Technology Service Centre (TSC) and is accountable for all phases of the project, from inception through implementation, to evaluation and continued operations. Key Responsibilities

- The Senior Project Manager, Client IT Infrastructure Projects is accountable for applying sound project management practices and tools to manage and successfully deliver multiple Client projects requiring TSC infrastructure and support services.
- Analyze, validate,



and ensure completeness of the business requirements with stakeholders, negotiate scope changes, and track the status and ongoing alignment of business requirements and system solutions.
- Client advocate within TSC and proactively work with Client Departments, Boards and Agencies to understand their strategic plans and to build and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship.
- Participate in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes being used throughout the TSC, and ensure that representatives of assigned departments, boards, and agencies understand the information or requirements related to these processes.

Key Qualifications

- A bachelor's degree in computer science or business administration with 3 years of experience in IT project management.

Equivalencies

- A relevant Masters with 1 year of experience in IT project management.
- A relevant Diploma with 5 years of experience in IT project management.
- A relevant Certificate with 6 years of experience in IT project management.

- All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
