We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Construction Team.

This role and plays a key part in mechanical design coordination, pricing, and project execution, ensuring alignment between design intent, constructability, schedule, and cost objectives. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring specifications are met and mechanical work is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) Acute Care Tower Project is a $1.579 ‑ billion investment that will expand and modernize acute care services for people across Northern BC. Delivered through an innovative Alliance model, the project brings together staff from Northern Health, EllisDon, DIALOG, PML, Houle Electric, and Infrastructure BC as one fully integrated team. The current project runs until 2031 and is based in Prince George, BC. We are seeking candidates either based in Prince George full-time, or based in our Coquitlam office with intermittent travel to Prince George.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:





- Develop and implement cost‑effective project plans and construction schedules that ensure logical utilization of labour, materials, and resources, in accordance with deadlines agreed upon with the General Contractor.
- Oversee the performance of all trade contractors and suppliers; procure materials and equipment as required; and review architectural, engineering, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and contract documents.
- Prepare, administer, and negotiate contracts, change orders, revisions, and additional scopes of work; obtain all required permits and approvals.
- Track and control project schedules and costs through the preparation of budgets, forecasts, progress reports, and cost‑tracking documentation, and proactively address site impacts such as delays, weather conditions, or unforeseen events to maintain schedule and budget.
- Interpret and communicate project plans, specifications, and contract requirements to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, including accounting and field personnel.
- Coordinate with Field Supervision and Operations to determine labour requirements, assign resources, and ensure work is executed in compliance with safety, building, and regulatory standards.
- Investigate site issues, incidents, damages, or delays; issue required notices; and work with supervisory personnel and stakeholders to resolve procedural, quality, or construction‑related concerns.




- Evaluate construction methods and sequencing for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness; develop and implement quality control and assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company in dealings with General Contractors, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, and maintain professional working relationships.
- Promote a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment and contribute to continuous improvement of project execution and business operations.
- Ensure project closeout documentation and contractual requirements are completed prior to substantial completion.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 7–10+ years of progressive experience in construction project management.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, materials, and applicable codes.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn recent software quickly.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in accordance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor and vendor performance.
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC™ regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
