About The Role The Senior Quality Engineer at Ecolab Inc. is a vital member of our quality assurance team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality, reliability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves strategic leadership in quality management, proactive process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold and enhance our quality standards.
The Senior Quality
Engineer serves as a subject matter expert, guiding investigations into complex quality issues, leading systemic failure analyses, and driving enterprise-wide corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The position requires a proactive approach to embedding quality into product design, manufacturing, and supplier processes, as well as mentoring teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Acting as the primary interface during significant quality events, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining customer trust and satisfaction while supporting the company’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. A Professional Engineer (PE) designation is highly preferred.
Candidates should have at least 5-8 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, ideally within manufacturing or product development environments.
Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in leading high-impact investigations using advanced problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, DOE, and statistical analysis, along with excellent communication skills to articulate technical findings effectively. Knowledge of 3D modeling and design software like SolidWorks, along with experience supporting customer communication and developing quality standards and training programs, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigations into customer escalations, systemic field failures, RMAs, and critical non-conformances utilizing advanced problem-solving tools and methodologies.
- Translate field data, failure trends, and customer feedback into actionable insights, supporting company-wide quality decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Professional Services to align quality initiatives with business objectives.
- Ensure thorough root cause analysis, documentation, and validation of corrective actions before closure, promoting a culture of data-driven decision making.
- Review and verify investigations, containment measures, and CAPA effectiveness conducted by other teams to ensure compliance and sustainability.
- Act as the primary quality contact for strategic customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during significant quality events, providing clear and technical communication.
- Lead cross-functional teams through resolution of critical quality issues, ensuring accountability, timely execution, and sustainable outcomes.
- Support customer communications by articulating technical findings, risks,
and corrective actions at both operational and leadership levels.
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and implementation of quality standards, procedures, control plans, and best practices across the organization.
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality tools, structured problem-solving, and investigation techniques to production, engineering, and quality personnel.
- Serve as a go-to resource and escalation point for complex or ambiguous quality challenges, fostering organizational learning and continuous improvement.
