Job Summary

Prohibition House is looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Shift / Operations Manager to join our management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading restaurant and bar shifts, supervising front-of-house staff, maintaining excellent guest service and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise restaurant and bar operations during assigned shifts.
- Manage servers, bartenders, hosts and support staff.
- Ensure a high standard of guest service throughout each shift.
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain smooth and timely service.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Complete cash-outs, deposits and end-of-shift reporting.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, breaks and performance.
- Assist with staff scheduling and shift coverage.
- Train and support new and existing team members.
- Monitor liquor, beer, wine and restaurant inventory and report shortages.
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering as required.
- Help monitor labour costs and staffing levels based on business volume.
- Oversee reservations, large groups and special events during assigned shifts.




- Ensure Smart Serve and responsible alcohol-service requirements are followed.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization and health and safety standards.
- Report maintenance, staffing and operational issues to senior management/ownership.
- Take responsibility for the restaurant and bar operation when senior management is not on site.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or bar supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Experience in a busy full-service restaurant and bar environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Comfortable managing and motivating a front-of-house team.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling and daily reconciliation.
- Smart Serve certification required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, skilled and able to work independently.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
