We are looking for an organized Shop Foreman with a strong mechanical background to lead our equipment service shop in Barrie. You will oversee the shop floor, coordinate service requests, assign technicians, and manage warranty claims while keeping customers informed and repairs moving.

Responsibilities

· Manage daily shop floor operations and prioritize work to keep repairs on schedule.

· Answer incoming service calls, understand customer concerns, and coordinate service requests.

· Assign work to technicians based on experience, availability, and job priority.

· Monitor repairs, support technicians with troubleshooting, and check completed work for quality.

· Keep customers updated on repair progress, timelines, and additional work requiring approval.

· Coordinate with the parts department to ensure required parts and supplies are available.

· Ensure work orders include accurate technician notes, labour hours, and parts usage.

· Handle warranty claims, including documentation, submission, manufacturer follow-up, and tracking through completion.

· Support and mentor technicians,



maintain an organized shop, and reinforce protected work practices.

Qualifications

· Experience servicing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery.

· Experience as a shop foreman, lead hand, or service supervisor; experienced technicians ready to move into leadership are also encouraged to apply.

· Strong mechanical troubleshooting, organization, and customer communication skills.

· Ability to manage changing priorities and maintain accurate service records.

· Comfort using computers, email, and service management software.

· Relevant trade certification and manufacturer warranty experience are assets.
