Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations or designate, the Senior Manufacturing Project Manager - FacilitiesCapital Projects is responsible for leading complex manufacturing capital equipment and improvement projects across the Company's Canadian and U.S. operations. For facilities and infrastructure matters, the position serves as a corporate liaison and technical resource to local plant Maintenance and Operations teams, which retain responsibility for the planning and execution of facility-specific work.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead capital projects from concept through implementation, commissioning, validation and project close-out.
- Develop project charters, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, resource plans and implementation strategies
- Provide technical guidance and subject-matter support to plant teams for building systems and utilities, including electrical distribution, compressed air, HVAC, water, natural gas, fire protection and other critical manufacturing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain standardized technical specifications and engineering guidelines for primary die cast equipment and supporting manufacturing systems; provide common facilities standards and technical guidance where cross-site consistency adds value
- Apply APQP principles and appropriate engineering tools, including PFMEA, project timing plans, open-issues tracking and equipment acceptance criteria.
- Manage equipment suppliers, engineering firms, contractors and other external service providers to ensure compliance with scope,
specifications, cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements.
Education, experience, skills
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, electrical, industrial manufacturing, civil engineering or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive engineering and/or manufacturing capital project management experience, with practical exposure to facilities and infrastructure systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex manufacturing capital equipment projects from concept through commissioning.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent 2D/3D CAD applications.
- Strong financial acumen, including capital budgeting, project forecasting, cost control and ROI analysis.
- Ability to travel internationally approximately 25-30%, including travel between Canadian and U.S. operations.
