Responsibilities
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washers, and sterilizers following established protocols
- Prepare and package medical instruments and supplies for sterilization, ensuring proper handling and labeling
- Verify and document sterilization cycles, maintaining accurate records for compliance and quality assurance
- Assist in inspecting instruments for damage or contamination before sterilization procedures
- Follow strict infection control procedures and adhere to safety guidelines at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area to promote a safe working environment
- Support inventory management by tracking supplies, ordering replacements as needed, and ensuring proper storage
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to sterilization processes
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures precisely
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Basic technical aptitude for operating sterilization equipment and troubleshooting minor issues
- Prior experience in healthcare or sterile processing is a plus but not required; training will be provided
