? Hiring: Strategic Buyer

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our client's Operations/Procurement team. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost negotiation, and procurement, with the ability to work closely with R&D; and cross-functional teams.

? Key Responsibilities

- Identify, evaluate, and recommend global suppliers based on quality, cost, availability, and business requirements.
- Lead cost negotiations for critical and strategic electronic and mechanical components.
- Review and analyze component costs across product bills of materials.
- Develop and recommend strategic sourcing strategies to optimize material costs while supporting inventory objectives.
- Monitor potential cost increases, supply constraints, and market risks and proactively communicate issues.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Manage supplier-related risks, including potential shortages and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Monitor supplier KPIs, including quality, delivery performance, cost, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate, manage, monitor, and renew supplier contracts.
- Collaborate closely with R&D; and Operations teams during product development and component sourcing.




- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

? Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement negotiations.
- Excellent cost analysis and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or similar.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual in French and English – written and spoken.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with suppliers across different countries and cultures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a results-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.

- Experience working with electronic components or the electronics industry.
- Experience with mechanical components and manufacturing procurement.
- Experience supporting R&D;/product development through component sourcing.
- Experience with global supplier negotiations and risk management.
