Gloria’s Place is seeking Part-Time Support Worker to join our dynamic team in Winnipeg.

Gloria’s Place is a "home-away from home" for kids and adults from Nunavut who can't live at home due to their medical needs. Gloria’s Place is a staffed residential setting, that provides care on a 24/7 basis. If you are looking to make a difference, we want to hear from you.

Under general supervision, the Support Worker is responsible for maintaining a safe home environment while providing ongoing direct care of the children ensuring all care requirements are being met consistently. Responsibilities also include house cleaning, assisting with personal hygiene, providing meals, transportation and other related activities.

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/qualities:

- Satisfactory Child and Adult Abuse Registry check, satisfactory Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector search) and a satisfactory Drivers’ abstract
- Current CPR and First Aid Level 1 – Emergency and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (N.V.C.I)
- Experience in a related role, with preference for residential experience, supporting children with various medical conditions/special needs including experience with house cleaning, feeding and personal hygiene
- Demonstrated cultural knowledge and sensitivity




- Able to work effectively with a variety of medical condition and behaviours and ability to be adaptable and adaptable
- Ability to provide respectful and compassionate care
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including ability to speak and write in English
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills in dealing with safety and other medical issues
- If using own vehicle for work purposes, required to have appropriate insurance including adequate liability insurance
- The ability to attend work regularly as scheduled or requested
- Health Care Aide certificate is an asset
- Class 5 driver's licence is an asset
- Knows basic ASL is an asset
- Available weekday evenings & weekend days/evening

Pay: From $16.40 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week
