About the Position The Systems & Network Administrator reports directly to the IT Manager and is responsible for supporting IT operations across head office and store locations, covering end-user support, IT asset management, identity and account administration, network infrastructure, and server environments.
What You'll Be Responsible For
End-User Systems & Support
- Install, upgrade, and maintain end-user hardware and software to ensure reliable day-to-day operation.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by running diagnostics, prioritizing business impact, and documenting problems and resolutions.
- Act as liaison between internal users, software service providers, and hardware contractors.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain the IT hardware asset inventory across head office and stores, including computers, POS terminals, printers, mobile devices, and network equipment.
- Operate and maintain asset discovery and inventory tooling (OCS Inventory NG) to keep hardware and software records accurate and current.
- Track asset lifecycle — procurement, deployment, assignment, transfer between sites, warranty status, and secure decommissioning/disposal.
- Monitor software licence usage and maintain compliance records.
Identity & Access Management
- Administer user accounts across Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD), ERP, and CRM — including onboarding, offboarding, group membership, licensing, and permissions.
- Enforce account protection standards such as MFA and conditional access; monitor compromised accounts and respond to security incidents.
- Manage customer account records in the CRM.
Email & Collaboration
- Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive, including mailbox provisioning, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, storage,
and sharing permissions.
- Configure and maintain anti-phishing, anti-spam, and email protection policies.
Network Infrastructure
- Maintain network infrastructure at head office and all store locations, including switching, VLANs, and structured cabling.
- Configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls, including firewall policies, VPN tunnels, and site-to-site connectivity.
- Manage Meraki wireless access points and monitor network performance across sites.
- Coordinate with ISPs on circuit provisioning, outages, and escalations.
Servers & Infrastructure
- Set up, maintain, and monitor cloud and on-premises servers running Windows Server and Linux.
- Administer VMware virtualization hosts and virtual machines.
- Manage backup and recovery infrastructure, including Synology NAS devices; verify backup integrity and test restores.
- Maintain the security posture of server and network environments, including patching and vulnerability remediation.
Documentation & Data
- Document technical specifications, configurations, and procedures to support planning and implementation of new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system data and coordinate with responsible departments to maintain data integrity.
Skills and Abilities
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization (VMware or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of firewalls, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, and wireless networking.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 / Entra ID and related services (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
- Experience with IT assets or inventory management tooling (OCS Inventory NG, Snipe-IT, Lansweeper, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude; able to grasp new concepts quickly.
- Detail oriented, with robust documentation habits.
Other Requirements
- Valid BC driver's licence and access to a vehicle; regular travel to store locations required.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance windows and outages.
Assets
- Experience with Fortinet and Meraki platforms.
- Experience supporting retail environments and POS/ERP systems.
- Experience with software licence management and compliance tracking.
- Certifications such as Microsoft (MS-102, AZ-104), Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+/Security+.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese in addition to English.
