Position summary The Technical Support Specialist will assist customers with device activation, platform configuration, troubleshooting and ongoing technical support. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with GPS trackers, dashcams, mobile applications, web-based platforms, SIM cards and basic vehicle wiring.

This position combines remote technical support, customer onboarding, device testing and coordination with installation technicians and hardware suppliers.

Key responsibilities

- Provide technical support to customers by telephone, email, WhatsApp and support-ticket system.
- Activate and configure GPS trackers, asset trackers, dashcams, ELD devices, SIM cards and IoT sensors.
- Create customer, vehicle, driver and device accounts on supported telematics platforms.
- Guide customers through mobile applications and web portals.
- Diagnose device connectivity, GPS signal, SIM, wiring, power and platform-related issues.
- Review device data, alarms, reports, video events and communication logs to identify problems.
- Perform bench testing and quality checks before devices are delivered or installed.
- Configure tracking intervals, geofences, alerts, user permissions and reports.
- Support live-streaming dashcams, video retrieval and memory-card troubleshooting.
- Coordinate installations, removals, inspections and service calls with field technicians.
- Maintain accurate records of IMEI numbers, SIM numbers, vehicle details, warranty status and support history.
- Escalate firmware, protocol, server and hardware problems to manufacturers or platform providers.
- Follow up on open tickets until the customer confirms that the issue has been resolved.
- Prepare simple user guides, troubleshooting instructions and installation notes.
- Assist with product demonstrations, customer training and onboarding sessions.
- Monitor offline devices and proactively contact customers when necessary.
- Support warranty claims,



device replacement and return-merchandise processes.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams during pilots and new deployments.
- Maintain a skilled, patient and service-oriented relationship with customers.

Required qualifications

- Diploma or degree in electronics, IT, telecommunications, automotive technology, computer networking or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- At least one year of experience in technical support, GPS tracking, telematics, IoT, automotive electronics or a related technical role.
- Good understanding of GPS/GNSS, cellular networks, SIM cards and web-based software platforms.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including power, ground, ignition/ACC and digital inputs.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems logically and document the actions taken.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Comfortable communicating with drivers, fleet managers, installers and technical teams.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, web applications and mobile apps.
- Ability to manage multiple support cases and prioritize urgent customer issues.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with GPS fleet-management or video-telematics platforms.
- Experience with Geotab, Tracksolid Pro, Switchboard ELD, Teltonika, Jimi IoT or similar products.
- Knowledge of AI dashcams, ADAS, DMS, ELD, BLE sensors, fuel sensors or temperature-monitoring systems.
- Experience using ticketing, CRM or inventory-management software.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, APN settings, device protocols or API integrations.
- Experience installing GPS trackers, dashcams or other 12V/24V automotive electronics.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
- French, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi or Arabic language skills would be an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
