Our client in the automotive industry, is looking to hire a Test/Lab Engineer.

Responsibilities

- Interface with development and test teams to understand lab, hardware, and automation requirements.
- Ensure sufficient lab hardware, automation nodes, and test benches are available to support the needs of the development community.
- Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment, including ECUs, development boards, power supplies, network equipment, displays, cabling, and related peripherals.
- Maintain lab equipment to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal operational performance.
- Support hardware bring-up, validation, and recovery of failed or unresponsive test nodes.
- Analyze lab metrics, root-cause failures, and validate fixes.
- Monitor messaging platforms and provide timely support to development and test teams.
- Document lab configurations, troubleshooting procedures, known issues, and recovery steps.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 1+ year hands-on experience with hardware, embedded systems, or test benches, including basic power, cabling, connectivity, and device troubleshooting.
- Professional, co-op, or academic experience with Python development.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to root-cause problems creatively and effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and resourceful.

Additional Qualifications

- Experience with CI/CD systems, such as Jenkins.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Experience with batch and shell scripting for Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with automotive ECUs, infotainment systems, connectivity modules, or similar embedded platforms.
- Experience with microcontrollers, development boards, or hardware debugging tools.
- Experience with automated testing environments and frameworks, such as PyTest.
- Experience with device flashing, provisioning, recovery, and test bench automation.
- Experience troubleshooting lab connectivity, including Ethernet, USB, serial, Wi-Fi, or CAN.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oakville, ON. Pay And Advantages The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience,



job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
