Job Summary: Under technical direction, review new and renewal underwriting submissions to ensure it contains sufficient data and fits our appetite. Enter data into modeling and pricing tools to determine premium adequacy and assess for appropriate underwriting terms and conditions. In partnership with underwriters in the department, market business to potential clients and service existing clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Either independently or in consultation with supervisor, analyze risks under the auspices of the department’s strategy and business objectives, reviewing exposures, losses and related conditions in order to seek to develop a proposal that adequately meets the needs of the target customers while adequately protecting the companies’ assets. Appropriate use of the underwriting tools and company record keeping essential.

Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines

Enter data elements in company’s proprietary pricing tool

Submit risk information for catastrophe modeling





Enter policy information into reinsurance portal where reinsurance is bound

Maintain rate change spreadsheets

Under technical direction, accept, decline or modify new and renewal business submitted by brokers, on behalf of the company. Perform account analysis according to Allied World Canada Property guidelines

Develop and build relationships with producers. Attend Client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable

Requirements

- Excellent Communication skills for both internal and external clients
- 4 year college graduate
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including word, outlook, and excel
- Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi task required
- Ability to effectively assess risk.
- Ability to function in a team environment.
