Fellows Butler Ventures is an Edmonton company building software for schools and families. We are in a quiet build phase ahead of our first school pilot in the new year, working with Canadian educators, clinicians and privacy counsel. Small team, careful about how things are done.

About the role

Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, hybrid in Edmonton. Start October 2026.

You will run the operations behind our Alberta usability programme and then our first school pilot. That is the practical work that makes evidence trustworthy: finding and scheduling participants, consent and session logistics, verifying and coding transcripts, first-pass synthesis into our findings register and keeping everything organised and audit-ready. From Q1 you move onto the pilot itself, coordinating usage data and feedback against success criteria agreed with the school and running the rhythm behind our weekly reporting.

You report to the founder.

Key responsibilities

- Recruit and schedule teachers, educational assistants and parents for usability sessions through professional networks
- Run consent and session logistics, and keep records clean enough to show anyone
- Verify transcripts against recordings, code them and de-identify them
- Do first-pass synthesis into the findings register, which feeds our build plan
- Keep our working registers current and traceable: findings, clinical sign-off, risks and suppliers
- Coordinate clinical advisory board reviews: scheduling, preparing materials, recording sign-offs in the clinical sign-off register
- Gather teacher advisory panel feedback and route it into the findings register
- From Q1, coordinate pilot data collection and staff feedback in our first school
- Own the weekly reporting rhythm and keep the pilot on schedule

Qualifications





- A graduate of a Canadian post-secondary institution in psychology, education, child development or a related field
- Organised to the point of enjoying it and careful with sensitive information
- Good with busy people, because you will be working around teachers' timetables
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, transcripts and a tidy folder structure

Assets

- Experience running research or programme operations in a school, clinic, lab or community setting
- Experience with consent, scheduling or transcript work
- Familiarity with grant-funded or funder-reported work

Eligibility This position is offered subject to approval of our application to the NRC IRAP Youth Employment Program. To be eligible you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person granted refugee status in Canada, aged 15 to 30 at the start of employment, and legally entitled to work in Alberta.

What we offer

- $45,000 to $50,000 a year, depending on experience
- Full-time, twelve months, Monday to Friday
- Hybrid: home and Edmonton, with occasional travel to the pilot school
- Twelve months inside an early-stage product, from usability through to a live pilot, with real responsibility from week one
